BioI'm a 20-something Sydney sider that simultaneously grew up way too fast and yet never really grew up at all. I'm constantly being mistaken for being much older than I am, but at the same time I have a childish streak and a passion for jumping in puddles. I don't think that will ever go away.
The handle Xierme is an amalgamation of two names that I am known by - Xi and Nierme. Neither are my given name, but both are far more familiar to me than my legal name will ever be. they just feel right. Nierme I chose myself as an online handle for a forum that became my online home. The name was later extended by a very close friend to Nierme ni Sidhe. I've kept it ever since.
Xi on the other hand is closer to my real name in that it's a shortened and then abbreviated version of my first name. The older brother of my best friend at high school started using it when talking to me online because it was easier and faster to type. This name also stuck and I am still to this day known amongst my real life friends as Xi too. Again it's a name I hold close as it was given to me by people I care about. While I'm not usually one for traditions I've always thought being named rather than naming yourself was something special.
